Summer Camp

As members of the GNFC our council camp is Camp Schoellkopf. However we go out of council every other year to camps like Daniel Boone and Massawepie.

Here is some important information to be prepared for camp:

Getting ready for Summer Camp:

1. Sign up and send in deposit.
2. Get a medical checkup and fill out the following forms (all three forms are required along with the insurance card):
   • Summer Camp Medications Form
   • Annual Health and Medical Record
   • Permission slips
   • Attach a photocopy of your insurance card
3. Send in remaining money and paperwork.
4. Check camp and troop websites for updating information.
5. Attend summer camp preparation and information meetings.
6. Build a camp box to store your gear in.
7. Make sure that you have proper clothing and equipment.
8. Certifications and prerequisites:
   • Adults: make sure that your training is current. If your Youth Protection Training does not run through 23 July 2010 visit MyScouting to get recertified.
   • Scouts: check and see what Merit Badges you are taking and be sure to complete all prerequisites before camp.

10. Pack and get ready for an exciting week of camping!
